People have always been attracted by art masterpieces.

Artists throughout the years have made a name for themselves and left lasting legacies that allowed many art - lovers today to thank for.

And art, in whatever form it takes, has many stories to tell.

There are numerous stories about well - known painters and their works of art.

A fine example can come from Leonardo da Vinci.

Everyone has heard about Leonardo da Vinci's most famous artwork, The Mona Lisa.

However, only a few may have known that it took the renowned artist 12 years just to contemplate, paint and bring Mona Lisa's lips to perfection.

No wonder people still try to solve the mystery of her tight - lipped smile.

During the time when the famous artwork was stolen from the Louvre in 1912, there were known to be six replicas that were sold as originals, each at a very high price.

This was done for a good three years until the original painting was finally found.

Another thing to mention about Leonardo da Vinci is that he wrote all his private notes in reverse, requiring others to use a mirror in order to read them.

НУЖНО СРОЧНО ПЕРЕВОД FLIGHT For many centuries people watched birds and dreamed that they could fly?

НУЖНО СРОЧНО ПЕРЕВОД FLIGHT For many centuries people watched birds and dreamed that they could fly.

We cannot fly like birds : we don`t have enough strength in our arms to move wings up and down.

We also really need the power of an engine to drive up forward.

Many people died learning these lessons, before controlled flight became possible.

The first flying machine which could carry a human being was built in Spain in 875.

Reports tell us that the inventor flew some distance, but the landing was hard : the man hurt his back badly and was never able to fly again.

It was possible that the news of his flight reached England, carried there by men returning from war in the Middle East.

Whether this is true or not, in 1010 a man called Oliver jumped off a church roof in Mulmesbury.

This time we know the distance of his flight - 125 steps.

In the last years of the 15th century, the Italian Leonardo da Vinci studied the flight of birds and made a number of drawings of flying machines.

His early machines tried to copy the movement of birds` wings, which he didn’t fully understand.

But less than 10 years before his death in 1519, he drew a machine with wings that didn’t move.

One of the machines was built and it did fly.

In 1536 in France, Denis Bolor returned to the idea of moving wings.

He tried to fly using wings that were moved up and down.

The idea didn’t` t work and he fell to his death.

Once upon a time on an island in the Red sea there lived a man.

One day he took flour and water, and carrots, and plums, and sugar and made himself a very big brown cake.

But just as he was going to eat it there came down to the beach the Rhinoceros with two piggy eyes and bad manners.

He said, how and the man left the cake and climbed to the top of a tree.

The Rhinoceros ate the cake and went away.

The man came down from the thee and said.

"Them that takes cakes, wich the man bakes, makes dreadful mistakes.

"

Five weeks later the weather was very hot and all the animals took off their skins.

The Rhinoceros left his skin on the beach and went into the water.

At that moment the man put cake crumbs inside the skin and climbed on the top of the tree.

The Rhinoceros came out of the water and put his skin on, and it tickled like cake crumbs in bed.

Не ran to the tree and rubbed, and rubbed himself against it.

And he rubbed his skin into great folds on his neck and over his legs.

And from that day a rhinoceros has great folds in his skin.
