We are all thinking about our holidays this time of the year, so to help you prepare, here is the list of top things you must not leave without.

1 documents 5 guidebook

2 swimwear 6 money

3 medication 7 good book

4 sun lotion 8 clothes

a.

An all important requirement that you must not forget, especially if it's prescribed as it might not be easy to get hold of abroad.

The last thing you want is to feel ill or worried on your holiday.

B . This will save you a lot of time because you won't be deciding what you want to do for half the da ' before eventually agreeing on something.

It's a great way to find out about the culture and traditions of the area that you are going to be staying in.

C. Please don't forget these, especially if your tickets and your passports are kept together with them!

D . Remember not to pack too much!

It's a good idea to lay everything out on your bed that you want to pack and then be really ruthless and only take what you really need!

E. Applicable to so many holidays as the weather does get hot sometimes and your skin can burn.

Even if you're going on a ski holiday, you still need to bring it as the rays of the sun reflect off the snow making it even more dangerous.

F . Where would we be without at least some cash?

Of course, you can take your credit card with you, but it is essential to carry a small amount of cash.

Telephone calls, bottles of water, sweets, etc are all small purchases that are better paid with cash.

G . OK, so you will be on holiday, but that doesn't mean you have every moment planned.

You may want to relax before going to bed.

You can also read on the beach, or while travelling.

H. Nearly always essential even if you're not going to the beach, as some hotels in the cities might have swimming pools.

You'll only envy the other people enjoying the water if you don't bring yours along.

How to make deciding a lot easier

If you’re definitely the type of person who’s always asking, “why am I so indecisive?

” you need to learn a few ways to help you make those choices.

Here’s what you can do the next time you need to make a big decision.

__________________________ There are pros and cons to every situation.

If you accurately weigh them both, going with the choice that has the most pros is the obvious decision.

It’ll take your emotions and the opinions of others completely off the table.

____________________________Sit down and think about what would happen with each decision.

Now which of those situations made you happy and which didn’t?

The choice should be pretty obvious.

______________________________ Stop thinking about everyone else.

If the choice will affect your life greatly, you need to think about yourself only.

How will you feel?

What’s best for your life?

You’ll have to make choices that are good for you and might not be good for others but in this case, being selfish is necessary.

________________________________ Not everyone will be happy with every single decision you make in your life.

You can’t try to please people.

You’ll never be happy if you do.

Just realize that, no matter what, somebody somewhere won’t be happy.

This can help you push those issues aside so you can make a choice.

_______________________________ Your gut instinct is just that, an instinct.

You need to learn to trust it.

If you really, really think you need to make a certain decision even though all the other signs point away from it, trust your gut.

Make that choice.

______________________________________If you’re having a particularly tough time, just ask a few people for their advice.

Don’t ask what they think you should do, ask what advice they might have for the situation.

This can help you see things from a different perspective so you can make the choice that’s right for you.

_____________________________________________________You’ll make some bad decisions in your life.

You’re not perfect.

Nobody’s perfect.

That being said, you need to remember this.

It’ll take the pressure off of the decision knowing that it’s okay if it’s a bad one.

We learn from our mistakes and it’ll help you with the decision - making process later in life

A) Weigh the pros and cons

B) Visualize the possible outcomes.

C)Determine which decision is best for YOU and you only.

D)Remember that you can’t please everyone

E) Trust your intuition.

F) Get some opinions but take them lightly.

G) Realize that some decision won’t turn out the way you hoped.

Помогите переделать прямую речь в повествованиеTwenty years ago British people usually ate at home?

Помогите переделать прямую речь в повествование

Twenty years ago British people usually ate at home.

They went out for a meal only sometimes, like for somebody’s birthday.

But today many people eat out at least once a week.

There are many kinds of restaurants in England.

Some of them are traditional restaurants where a waiter serves customers, and others are self - servicerestaurants.

405

Lesson 6

There are all - daycafes and sandwich bars which are very popular and crowded, especially during the lunch hour, but it is getting more and more expensive to have meals there.

At self - servicecafeterias a customer serves himself, and he can get a meal more quickly and less expensively there than in other types of restaurants.

But the most popular place «for a drink and a chat»1 has been and still is the famous English pub2 with its cosy and friendly at mosphere.

People go to pubs not only for some beer or whisky, but to meet their friends and they often spend the whole evening there till closing time.

A lot of people buy fish and ships3 — the classic English take - awayfood4 in“fish - and - chipshops” and eat it in the street or at home.

Fast food restaurants5 are very popular too.

The most common food there is ham burgers, of course.

But the British people also like Chinese, Japanese and Indian cuisine which shows that they have become quite cosmopolitan in their eating habits.

В

After the talks Mr Stanley invited Mr Borisov to have dinner at the Sa voy Restaurant in the West End.

They came into the restaurant, took their seats at a table near the window and ordered cocktails.

Borisov :

Mr Stanley, I’ve been staying in London only for a week and I

Stanley :

don’t know much about English meals.

Well, if you like, I can give you a general idea about that.

At breakfast we usually have porridge, bacon and eggs,

sausages, tomatoes.

The traditional drink is tea which we

have with milk, but some people have coffee, often instant

coffee6.

English lunch consists of two courses : a meat or a

fish course with vegetables and dessert.

At 5 o’clock in the

afternoon we have tea, often with a cake.

Most people have

their last meal, which is rather big, at 7 or 8 in the evening,

and call it dinner, while others have a small, late evening

Borisov :

meal, which they call supper.

Thank you, Mr Stanley, that was interesting.

Stanley :

Let’s study the menu and see what’s on it tonight.

Waiter :

Good evening, gentlemen.

Are you ready to order?

406

Eating out

Borisov : I’m afraid I don’t understand the names of all dishes on the

menu, Mr Stanley.

Could you help me and recommend what to

Stanley :

take?

With pleasure.

H - m - m, would you like mushroom soup?

Horisov :

No, thank you.

I seldom eat soup in the evening.

Stanley :

Then you can order roast - beefwith fried potatoes.

It’s a

Horisov :

traditional English dish and it’s usually delicious.

Fine.

Waiter :

How about you, sir?

Stanley :

Well, I’m pretty hungry.

I’ll start with chicken soup, then

I’d like a steak with green salad.

And bring us a bottle of

Waiter :

red wine, please.

Would you like to order dessert now?

There is a choice be

Borisov :

tween fruit and ice - cream.

I prefer fruit.

Stanley :

So do I.

What about some cheese?

Borisov :

No cheese for me, thank you.

Stanley :

I think I’ll have some, And we’ll finish with black coffee, if

Borisov :

you don’t mind.

That sounds nice.

Waiter :

Thank you, gentlemen.

I hope you’ll enjoy yourselves.
