"Он был уверен, что медицинские анализы покажут, что он здоров.

"В русском предложении у нас стоят 3 времени : прошедшее(был уверен) и будущее(покажут) и настоящее(он является здоровым).

Для русского языка это нормально.

У англичан строгие требования к употреблению времён : если начал говорить в прошедшем времени, то и до конца должен говорить в прошедшем.

А как же быть с будущим?

Его нужно уравнять с прошедшим.

Так возникло ещё одно время - Future - in - the - Past(будущее в прошедшем)Как оно строится?

Вспомогательный глагол будущего времени "will" переводят в его прошедшую форму - "would".

И всё!

Так появилось в английском языке Будущее - в - Прошедшем.

Вместо "will show" стало "would show".

Если вы заметили, то и настоящее время "he is healthy"(он здоров) тоже уравняли с прошедшим "he was healthy"(он был здоров).

В грамматике это называется правило согласования времён.

Но моя задача была рассказать вам о Future - in - the - Past.

Вы поняли, почему оно возникло и как строится?
