Помогите пожалуйста сделать пересказ текста , буду очень благодарна THE PACK OF BISCUITS

One night there was a woman at the airport who had to wait for several hours before catching her next flight.

While she waited she bought a book and a pack of biscuits to spend the time.

She looked for a place to sit and waited.

She was deep into her book, when suddenly she realized that there was a young man sitting next to her who was stretching his hand, with no concern whatsoever, and grabbing the pack of cookies lying between them.

He started to eat them one by one.

Not wanting to make a fuss about it she decided to ignore him.

The woman, slightly bothered, ate the cookies and watched the clock, while the young and shameless thief of biscuits was also finishing them.

The woman started to get really angry at this point and thought, "If I wasn't such a good and educated person, I would have given this daring man a black eye by now.

" Every time she ate a biscuit, he had one too.

The dialogue between their eyes continued and when only one biscuit was left, she wondered what was he going to do.

Softly and with a nervous smile, the young man grabbed the last biscuit and broke it in two.

He offered one half to the woman while he ate the other half.

Briskly she took the biscuit and thought, "What an insolent man!

How uneducated!

He didn't even thank me!

"

She had never met anybody so fresh and sighed relieved to hear her flight announced.

She grabbed her bags and went towards the boarding gate refusing to look back to where that insolent thief was seated.

After boarding the plane and nicely seated, she looked for her book which was nearly finished by now.

While looking into her bag she was totally surprised to find her pack of biscuits nearly intact.

If my biscuits are here, she thought feeling terribly, those others were his and he tried to share them with me.

Too late to apologize to the young man, she realized with pain, that it was her who had been insolent, uneducated and a thief, and not him!

Переведите кто - нибудь There was an old woman who lived alone, she had no family still living and her only friend was a little white dog who went everywhere with her - with one exception.

The dog loved the fireplace in winter, and after the old woman went to bed he would sometimes go and lie in front of the warm coals.

Usually though, the dog lay on a rug right next to the bed.

The woman wouldn't allow the dog on the bed with her, but if she became frightened or had a nightmare, she would put her hand down to her little white dog and he would lick it reassuringly.

One night she was reading the newspaper just before going to sleep.

She shivered and pulled the duvet up around her as she read that a mental patient had wandered off from a nearby hospital.

No one knew if the patient was dangerous or not, but he was a suspect in the murders of several women who lived alone.

The woman turned out the lights and tried to sleep, but she was frightened, and tossed and turned fitfully.

Finally, she reached down to where her little white dog slept.

Sure enough, a warm, wet tongue began to lick her hand.

The woman felt reassured and safe, and left her hand dangling off the side of the bed.

As she turned to settle in comfortably she opened her eyes for a moment and looked through the open door into the living room.

There in front of the fireplace, sat her little white dog, gazing at the coals and wagging his tail.

And down beside her bed, something was still licking her hand.

Six months later we went to London for Christmas.

Mary was the happiest girl in the world.

She was with her father and mother again.

I was glad too I enjoyed everything we didn't have in Wales : beautiful dresses, music, games and feasts.

On Christmas Day there was a carnival.

I was dancing and laughing when suddenly I noticed a strange lady who was not wearing a mask.

Her hair was as black as night, her eyes as dark as onyx and her skin as pale as snow.

She was slim and wore a black and white dress with very long sleeves.

She wasn't beautiful, but everybody was looking at her.

A tall man came up to her and asked her to dance.

His eyes were fixed on her, he didn't notice anything around him.

That moment I recognized the man.

It was the King!

She put her hand into his and I saw that she had six fingers.

DAILY BREAD

Miss Martha was 40 years old but she was not married.

She had her own shop where she sold bread, both fresh and stale which was cheaper.

There was a customer who called at her shop two or three times a week.

The man was not young but he was very pleasant.

He wore cheap clothes but they always looked nice on him.

He always bought stale bread and never fresh.

Miss Martha decided that he was very poor.

She often thought of him and was always sorry that she couldn’t invite him to have dinner with her.

She wanted to talk to him, to know more about him.

She liked the man and began wearing her best dress.

She wanted to help the poor man but didn’t know how to do it.

Once when her customer called on her to buy stale bread, Miss Martha had an idea and a good one, as she thought, to help him.

She put some butter in the stale bread.

The next day two men came into the shop.

One of them was her customer and the other – a young man.

The customer was very angry and couldn’t speak to her.

So the young man told Miss Martha everything.

“We work together in the same office”, he said.

“We use stale bread to take away to pencil lines from our plans.

We have worked at a plan of a new district for six months.

We finished it this morning and began taking away pencil lines from it with your bread.

You see, as there was butter in the bread the plan is good for nothing, and we can’t show this plan to anybody now.

When the men left, Miss Martha went to her room, took off her best dress and put on her old one.

The Christmas Presents

One dollar and eighty - seven cents.

That was all.

Every day, when she went to the shops, she spent very little money.

She bought the cheapest meat, the cheapest vegetables.

And when she was tired, she still walked round and round the shops to find the cheapest food.

She saved every cent possible.

Delia counted the money again.

There was no mistake.

One dollar and eighty - seven cents.

That was all.

And the next day was Christmas.

She couldn’t do anything about it.

She could only sit down and cry.

So she sat there, in the poor little room, and she cried.

Delia lived in this poor little room, in New York, with her husband, James Dillingham Young.

They also had a bedroom, and a kitchen and a bathroom – all poor little rooms.

James Dillingham Young was lucky, because he had a job, but it was not a good job.

These rooms took most of his money.

Delia tried to find work, but times were bad, and there was no work for her.

But when Mr James Dillingham Young came home to his rooms, Mrs James Dillingham Young called him ‘Jim’ and put her arms round him.

And that was good.

Delia stopped crying and she washed her face.

She stood by the window, and looked out at a grey cat on a grey wall in the grey road.

Tomorrow was Christmas Day, and she had only one dollar and eighty - seven cents to buy Jim a Christmas present.

Her Jim.

She wanted very much to buy him something really fine, something to show how much she loved him.

Suddenly, Delia turned round and ran over to look in the glass on the wall.

Her eyes were bright.

Now, the James Dillingham Youngs had two very special things.

One was Jim’s gold watch.

It once belonged to his father, and, before that, to his grandfather.

The other special thing was Delia’s hair.

Quickly, Delia let down her beautiful, long hair.

It fell down her back, and it was almost like a coat around her.

Then she put her hair up again, quickly.

For a second or two she stood still, and cried a little.

Then she put on her old brown coat, and her old brown hat, turned, and left the room.

She went downstairs and out into the road, and her eyes were bright.

She walked along by the shops, and stopped when she came to a door with ‘Madame Eloise — Hair’ on it.

Inside there was a fat woman.

She did not look like an ‘Eloise’.

‘Will you buy my hair?

Delia asked.

‘I buy hair, ’ Madame replied.

‘Take your hat off, then, and show me your hair.

The beautiful brown hair fell down.

‘Twenty dollars, ’ Madame said, and she touched the hair with her hand.

‘Quick!

Cut it off!

Give me the money!

Delia said.

The next two hours went quickly.

Delia was happy because she was looking round the shops for Jim’s present.

At last she found it.

It was a gold chain for The Watch.

Jim loved his watch, but it had no chain.

When Delia saw this gold chain, she knew immediately that it was right for Jim.

She must have it.

The shop took twenty - one dollars from her for it, and she hurried home with the eighty - seven cents.

When she arrived there, she looked at her very short hair in the glass.

‘What can I do with it?

she thought.

For the next half an hour she was very busy.

Then she looked again in the glass.

Her hair was now in very small curls all over her head.

‘Oh, dear.

I look like a schoolgirl!

she said to herself.

‘What’s Jim going to say when he sees me?

At seven o’clock the dinner was nearly ready and Delia was waiting.
