The British have a sweet tooth.
That means they like eating sweet things like puddings and pies, jams, biscuits and buns, cakes and rolls.
For the British, any time is an "eat - a - sweet time" : during a tea break at work, or a break at school, watching TV at home, and in the cinema or the theatre.
During holidays like Christmas and Easter, and on special days like Mother`s Day and Vaentine`s Day, they eat even more sweet things.

The usual meals are breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner.
Breakfast is generally a bigger meal than they have on the Continent, though some English people like a"continental" breakfast of rolls and butter and coffee.
But the usual English breakfast is porridge or corn flakes with milk or cream and sugar, bacon and eggs, marmalade(made from oranges) with buttered toast, and tea or coffee.
For a change you can have a boiled egg, cold ham perhaps fish.
They generally have lunch about one o'clock.
The businessman in London usually finds it impossible to come home for lunch and so restaurant ; but if they can make it home for lunch, they have cold meat(left over probably from yesterday's dinner), potatoes, salad and pickles, with a pudding or fruit to follow.
Sometimes we have a mutton chop, or steak and chips, followed by biscuits and cheese, and some people like a glass of light beer with lunch Afternoon tea you can hardly call a meal, but it is a sociable sort of thing, as friends often come in then for a chat while they have their cup of tea, cake or biscuit.
In some houses dinner is the biggest meal of the day.
They begin with soup, followed by fish, roast chicken, potatoes and vegetables, a sweet, fruit and nuts.
Then they go into the sitting - room for coffee and the cigarettes.
In a great many English homes, they make the mid¬day meal the chief one of the day, and in the evening they have the much simpler supper — an omelettes, or sausages, sometimes bacon and eggs and sometimes just bread and cheese, a cup of coffee or cocoa and fruit.

When people think of Britain, they often think of people drinking tea, eating flash and chips, colorful royal ceremonies, soldiers in strange uniforms.
The British are proud of their traditions and carefully keep them up.
The British celebrate such public holidays as Christmas, Ester Monday, May day, the spirit bank holiday, and the summer bank holiday.
Besides public holidays there are other festivals such as Pancake day, April Fool's day, Halloween, Guy Fawkes night, St Valentines day and others.
I'd like to describe some of them.
Hippos are very big animals?
Hippos are very big animals.
They live in Africa.
They are very fat, and can be 3, 000 - 4, 500 kilos!
Hippos have their babies during the rainy months of October and April.
They sleep most of the day and eat at night.
They eat grass and live for about 40 years.
