THE BEAUTIFUL PALACE.
There was once a king who built a large and beautiful palace and gave it to his four children to live in.
The first brother to arrive took all the upstairs rooms for himself.
The first sister arrive took all the downstairs rooms for herself.
They spend much of their time arguing and fighting, because each one wanted to be in charge of the whole palace.
When the second brother and sister arrived, there were no rooms left for them.
''As I am very king''said the first brother to the younger one, ''I will give you one of my very own rooms if you do all the work in the fields, growing all the food.
''I am very kind, too, said the first sister to the younger one, ''so I will give you one of my very own rooms if you do all the cooking and cleaning and washing.
''Of course, the rooms offered were the smallest of the many rooms in the whole palace but the younger brother and sister had no choice if they wanted a roof over their heads.
So they worked all day long, growing the food, cooking, cleaning and washing.
They knew that this was not what their father had wanted for them, when he built the large and beautiful palace, because he loved all four of his children equally.
But the work was so hard that they were too tired to complain to their elder brother and sister.
When their elder brother saw the younger one become ill from overwork he said.
''I will give him some medicine to make him better.
I'm sure my father will be pleased with me for my kindness.
''When the elder sister saw the younger one was cold because her clothes were thin and worn out, she said.
''I will give her the black coat that has got too tight for me.
I'm sure my father will be pleased with me for my kindness.
'' Then, one day, when nobody was expected him, the king arrived at the palace to visit his children.

The children looked down at the Neverland and saw that the whole island was full of life.
The
Lost Boys were looking for Peter.
The pirates were looking for the Lost Boys.
The Indians were
looking for the pirates, and the animals were looking for the Indians.
They all walked round and
round the island, but they did not meet because they were all walking at the same speed.
The first to stop moving were the boys.
They were tired, and they sat down on the ground near
their underground home.
Only the Lost Boys knew where the underground house was.
The
entrances were seven trees with holes in their trunks.
There was one hole for each Lost Boy (Nibs,
Tootles, Slightly, Curly and the Twins), and one for Peter Pan.
“Where is Peter?
” asked Nibs.
“I want him to come back and fight the pirates, " said Tootles.
“I am not afraid of the pirates, " said Slightly, but the other boys knew that this was not true.
Everyone was afraid of Hook and his men.
Just then, there was a sound.

The boys disappeared into their underground home like rabbits just before the pirates arrived.

The manhad his lanch, then lay down and soon was asleep.
When he woke up, he could not find the caps.
"Where are my caps?
" he cried.
He could not find them anywhere.
What could he do?
Suddenly he looked up.
And what did he see?
He saw many monkeys in the tree, and each monkey had the man's cap on its head!
"Give me back my caos!
" cried the man.
But the monkeys could not undertand the man.
They laughed, jumped and played with the caps.
The man asked and asked the monkeys to give him back his caps, but the monkeys didn't understand him.
They only laughed.
The man got very much angry with the monkeys.
He took off his cap, threw it on the ground and cried : "If you want my caps, you may take this one, too!
"
And do you know what the monkeys did?
They took off the caps and threw them on the ground!
That's how the man got back all his caps.
Certainly, he was very glad.
He quickly took all his caps and went away.
