London is the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Its political, cultural and business centre.

The City of London is its central part, it is also the oldest part of London.

Many people work in the city but very few live there.

There are a lot of banks and offices in the City.

Two wonderful places of interest are situated in this part of London.

They are Tower of London and st paul's Cathedral.

The tower of london, or the tower, is an ancient castle on the north bank of the Thames.

There are some buildings on its territory behind strong grey walls.

The White Tower which gave the name too the place is a central building.

The Tower of London was a palace, a fortress, a prison and the king's zoo.

Now it is a museum.

The Tower of London has some interesting traditions.

One of them is to keep black ravens in its territory.

They say Britain will be strong, powerful and successful if ravens don't leave the Tower.

Лондон является столицей Соединенного Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии, его политическим, культурным и деловым центром.

Район Ситив Лондоне является его центральной частью, он же - самая древняя часть Лондона.

Многие люди работают в Сити, но очень немногие живут там.

В Ситимного банков и офисов предприятий.

Две замечательные достопримечательности находятся именно в этой части Лондона.

Это Тауэр и собор Святого Павла.

Тауэр, (или башня, ) это древний замок на северном берегу Темзы.

Есть несколько зданий на его территории за крепкими серыми стенами.

Белая Башня, давшая название замку, являетсяцентральным зданием.

Лондонский Тауэр был дворцом, крепостью, тюрьмой и зоопарком.

Сейчас это музей.

Лондонский Тауэр имеет несколько интересных традиций.

Одной из них является содержание черных воронов на своей территории.

Говорят, что Британия будет сильной, могущественной и успешной, пока вороны не покинут Тауэр.

Now it's a museum.

Westminster is the aristocratic official part of London.

There are Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives

and the Houses of Parliament along the north bank of

the Thames.

The clock tower of the Houses of Parliament is famous

for its big hour bell known as «Big Ben».

Westminster

Abbey is the place where the coronation of nearly all

kings and queens has taken place.

Many of them are buried

here as well as some other famous people of the country.

The West End is the richest and most beautiful part

of London.

The best hotels, restaurants, shops, clubs,

parks and houses are situated there.

There - are many

tourists there from different countries of the world.

Trafalgar Square is the geographical centre of London,

it was named in the memory of Admiral Nelson's

victory in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

The tall Nelson's

Column stands in the middle of the square.

The East End is an industrial district of London.

There

are many factories there.

The region is densely populated

by working class families.

The Tower of London is a very old building in London?

The Tower of London is a very old building in London.

It is nine hundred years old.

The Tower of London stands on the Thames.

In the early days of the history of England the English kings lived in the Tower.

Then it was a prison where many people died, black ravens had much food near the walls of the Tower in those years.

The black ravens live in the gardens of the Tower now.

The English people like them very much.

A man looks after the ravens and gives them meat in the morning and in the evening.

Now the Tower of London is a museum and many people from other countries come to see it.

They see the dark stone halls with small windows and thick doors.

The walls of the Tower are five metres thick.

In the museum they can see many old guns.

At ten o’clock every evening the guards lock the big doors of the Tower for the night.

The oldest part of London is called the City.

In the City the streets and pavements are very narrow and the traffic is very heavy on weekdays.

That is because the most important London firms and banks have offices there.

But at weekends the City is almost dead.

The most fashionable and the most expensive part to live in is the West End.

It is situated between the City and Hyde Park.

The City and the West End are the heart of London ; they are the parts which everybody who comes to London must see and wants to see, because they are more interesting than any other part of London.

All the most interesting buildings, shops and offices are situated here.

The Tower of London, the Bank of England, the Mansion House where the Lord Mayor lives, the Law Courts, and many interesting old churches are situated in the City.
