Its a traditional Russian festival called pancake week.
Its my favourite.
It lasts from Monday till Sunday.
We eat pancakes, take park in the khorovod and burn a straw doll the symbol of winter.
We wear funny masks and play snowball and climb the pole.
We say goodbye to winter and hello to spring.

"Maslenitsa" is the weekbefore Lent.
Its when Russians say goodbye to winter and welcome spring.
Its a time of singing, dancing and fun.
There is a lot to eat, too - especially blinis, which are delecious butter pancakes.
Children dress up and play in the snow.
We go for sleigh rides, go sledging, have snowball fights and lots more.
We make a straw doll of "Lady Maslenitsa", who is dressed in special clothes.
On Sunday evening, we burn Lady Maslenitsa on a big bonfire.
The spring festival is over and Lent begins.
