Cried the Miller ; I really dont know what is the use of sending you to school.

You seem not to learn anything.

Why, if little HAns came up here, and saw our warm fire, and our good supper, he might get envious, and envy is a most terrible thing, and would spoil anybody's nature.

I certainly will not allow Han's naureto be spoiled.

I am his best friend, and i will always watch over him, and see that he is not led into any temptations.

Besides, if Hans came here, he might ask me to let him have some flour on credit, and that I could not do.

Flour is one thing, and friendship is another, and they should not be confused.

Why the words are spelt differently, and mean quite different things.

Everybody can see that.

How well you talk!

Said the Miller's Wife, pouring herself out a large glass of warm beer ; 'reaally I feel quite drowsy" Lots of people act well, anaqwered the Miller, but very few people talk well, which shows that talking is mush the more difficult thing of the two, and much the finer thing also ; and he looked sternly across the table at him little son, who felt so ashamed of himself that he hung his head down, and grew quite scarlet, and began to cry into his tea.

However, he was so young that you must excuse him.

It that the end of the story?

Asked the Water - rat.

Certainly not, answered the Linnet, that is the beginning.

"Little Hans had a great many friends, but the most devoted friend of all was big Hugh the Miller?

"Little Hans had a great many friends, but the most devoted friend of all was big Hugh the Miller.

Indeed, so devoted was the rich Miller to little Hans, that be would never go by his garden without leaning over the wall and plucking a large nosegay, or a handful of sweet herbs, or filling his pockets with plums and cherries if it was the fruit season.

"'Real friends should have everything in common, ' the Miller used to say, and little Hans nodded and smiled, and felt very proud of having a friend with such noble ideas.

"Sometimes, indeed, the neighbours thought it strange that the rich Miller never gave little Hans anything in return, though he had a hundred sacks of flour stored away in his mill, and six milch cows, and a large flock of woolly sheep ; but Hans never troubled his head about these things, and nothing gave him greater pleasure than to listen to all the wonderful things the Miller used to say about the unselfishness of true friendship.

Помогите сделать литературный перевод, не из переводчика I always buy my clothes from the shopping centre?

Помогите сделать литературный перевод, не из переводчика I always buy my clothes from the shopping centre.

There are lots of different shops there and you can usually find some special offers so the clothes don't have to be expensive.

They also have the latest fashions and the right colours.

It's important to look right.

I don't want anyone laughing at me because of my clothes.

The clothes are also good quality and you know that, if there's a problem, we can take clothes back.

The shop will still be there the next week.

People in the market might not be.

There are other reasons for shopping there.

It doesn't matter if it's raining, snowing or very hot outside.

The shopping centre is always dry and warm - not like the market.

The shop assistants are usually friendly and helpful.

They help you choose the right styles and colours for you but they don't make you buy things that you're not sure about.

You can take your time.

The other thing I like about the shopping centre is that it isn't just a place to shop.

You can eat and drink at one of the restaurants or just sit and watch the people coming and going.

Getting there is also nice and easy.

There are buses that stop outside the front door and a big, free car park.

An ant met an elephant near a river in the forest?

An ant met an elephant near a river in the forest.

The elephant said, "Good morning, little thing.

" "Little thing!

" cried the ant.

"I am very strong!

I am the strongest of all!

" "I am the strongest animal in the forest!

" said the elephant.

"Well, come here tomorrow at the same time and we shall fight!

Then we shall see which of us is stronger, " answered the little ant.

"How can I fight with you?

I don't see you in the grass!

" cried the elephant.

"Then we shall pull a rope.

And you will see that I am stronger than you, " said the ant.

"All right!

" said the elephant and went away.

The ant went to the river and said to a crocodile who lived there, "I have a good dinner for you, Crocodile.

Come here tomorrow at the same time.

I shall have a big hare tied to a rope for you.

" "That's very good of you, Ant!

" said the crocodile, "Thank you very much!

" The next morning the ant met the elephant.

The ant gave the elephant the end of a long rope.

"Tie this end of the rope to your leg, " said the ant, "and I shall tie the other end to my leg.

When I say 'Ready!

' you must begin to pull.

Then we shall see which of us is stronger.

" The elephant tied one end of the rope to his leg, and the ant ran off with the other end to the crocodile.

The ant tied the rope to the crocodile's neck and said, "And now - pull!

" And to the elephant he cried, "Ready!

" The crocodile began to pull, and the elephant began to pull, too.

They pulled and they pulled.

"How strong that ant is!

" thought the elephant, and he pulled again.

"How strong that hare is!

" thought the crocodile, and he pulled again.

And they pulled and pulled.

But the clever ant only laughed at the silly elephant and the crocodile, and went home.

I think that people vote for this or that thing not because they porsonally like it or not .

I ' m sure that people vote for traditional items that have been around for many years .

They vote for the things that are rocognisend as part of our culture and our history, for the most significant or most typical items .

They vote for what is great in the country , for what best represents Britain .

The items people have voted for are easily recognised as the British ones all over the world .

And it does not matter what country they come from.

The Stonecutter Once upon a time there was a stone cutter?

The Stonecutter Once upon a time there was a stone cutter.

The stone cutter lived in a land where a life of privilege meant being powerful.

Looking at his life he decided that he was unsatisfied with the way things were and so he set out to become the most powerful thing in the land.

Looking around his land he wondered to himself what is it to be powerful.

Looking up he saw the Sun shining down on all the land.

«The Sun must be the most powerful thing that there is, for it shines down on all things, and all things grow from it’s touch.

» So he became the Sun.

Days later, as he shone his power down on the inhabitants of the land, there came a cloud which passed beneath him obstructing his brilliance.

Frustrated he realized that the Sun was not the most powerful thing in the land, if a simple cloud could interrupt his greatness.

So he became a cloud, in fact, he became the most powerful storm that the world had ever seen.

And so he blew his rain and lightning, and resounded with thunder all over the land, demonstrating that he was the most powerful.

Until one day he came across a boulder.

Down and down he poured and his thunder roared, lightning flashed and filled the sky, striking the ground near the boulder.

His winds blew and blew and blew, and yet, despite all his efforts, he could not budge the boulder.

Frustrated again, he realized that the storm was not the most powerful thing in the land, rather it must be the boulder.

So he became the boulder.

For days he sat, unmovable, and impassive, demonstrating his power, until one day, a stone cutter came and chiseled him to bits.

The moral of the story is : sometimes the most important thing to remember is that you have everything you need already, right inside of you.

Power is an illusion.

Long, long ago there lived a travelling monkey - man.

He went from place to place with his monkey and showed the animal's tricks to people.

One evening the man came home and told his wife to send for the butcher the next morning.

The wife asked her husband, “Why do you want me to send for the butcher?

” “The monkey is too old and forgets his tricks.

I beat him as hard asI can * but he doesn’t dance well.

I must sell him to the butcher.

” The woman was very sorry for the little animal and asked her husband not to sell the monkey but the man did not want to listen to her.

The monkey was in the neighbouring room and heard every word.

He understood what the man wanted to do with him and thought, “How cruel my master is!

Didn’t I serve him well all my life?

* And now he wants to sell me to the butcher because I’m too old.

” The monkey did not know what to do.

Then he thought of a wise bear who lived in the forest.

He went out of the house and ran to the bear.

He found him at home and began his story.

“Good Mr.

Bear, I know that you are very wise and you can help me.

I’m old now and cannot dance well and my mas ter wants to sell me to the butcher.

” “Did your master tell you so?

” "Oh no, he didn’t, but he told his wife and I heard it.

I know how wise you are.

Please, help me.

” The bear was pleased to hear such words and decided to help the monkey.

“Hasn’t your master a baby?

” asked the bear.

“Oh, yes, ” said the monkey “He has a little son.

” “Doesn’t his baby lie near the door in the morning when your mistress begins her work in the house?

Well, I shah come to your house and when nobody is near the child, I shall take it and run away with it.

” • “What then?

” said the monkey.

“Don’t you understand?

Before the mother calls your master, you must run after me and save the child and take it home to its parents.

” The monkey thanked the bear and went home.

He did not sleep much that night.

He got up very early and waited.

Soon the master’s wife opened the door, ’put her child near it and began to prepare the breakfast.

The child was playing in the sun.

Suddenly there was a noise at the door and a loud cry from the child.

The mother ran out of the kitchen and saw the bear running away with her child.

She cried out and then ran into the room where her hus band was still sleeping.

He sat up slowly and asked what all the noise was about.

When the man understood what his wife was telling him, they both ran out.

The bear was far away, but they saw the monkey running after the bear as hard as his legs could cany him.

* The man and his wife did not know how to thank the good monkey when he brought the child back to them.

“There!

” said the wife.

“This is the animal you want to kill, the animal that saved your child.

” “You’re right, wife, ” said the man, carrying the child into the house.

“You may send the butcher back when he comes, and now give us all a good breakfast and the monkey too.

” When the butcher came they sent him away and the mon key lived the rest of his days in peace and his master never beat him again.
