Hi Vanya, I haven't written to you for two months, sorry, but i had a very busy time.

My summer holidays were over and i had to begin a new school year in secondary school .

That summer was a great one.

Have you ever heard of Hop Scotch?

No? And i tried it.

My dance group went to Linlithgow in August.

That's a nice village, it is 15 minites from Edinburgh or 40 minites fron Glasgow.

It's famous for Linlithgow Place, the home of the Stuart Kings of Scotland where Mary Queen of Scots was born.

It's also knowh for for St Michael's Church and Linlithgow Loch.

Loch meams "lake" in Scottish.

But what i want to tell you about is Linlithgow How Scoth or Scottish Dancing for all people in the place courtyard.

It's fantastic!

Every year on Wednesday evenings from the middle of July to the middle of August local people and visitors are invited to tske part in some traditional Scottish dancing with live misic and great dance instructors.

So if you don't know how to dance, but that was absolutely differet.

Hop Scottish is like Scottish country dance.

People from different countries and of any age come to Linlithgow to enjoy it.

You change partners all the time.

I danced with a boy from Russia, with a lady from New Zeland and an elderly gentleman from Liverpool.

The tickets are not expensive - & ; 5 and for under 12 years of age that's free.

You may drink tea and eat some cakes there too.

With best wishes, Emily.

Помогите пожалуйста кто знает английский язык перевести текст чисто.

В онлайн - переводчиках получаются "кроссфорды".

I like to spend my free time in different ways.

I am fond of visiting interesting places, cinemas and reading books.

Of course, I have a hobby.

Do you know what a hobby is?

Where does the word come from?

Many of us have pets - dogs and cats.

They are like members of our family.

In England many years ago farmers displayed the same love for horses.

Robbin, Dobbin and Hobbin were the names which farmers gave to their horses most often.

The name Hobbin was changed into Hobby and became the word used for toy horses.

And only many years later the word "hobby" began to be used in its modern meaning - "something", what you do in your spare time Hobbies differ like tastes.

Hobbies are divided into four large classes.

They are doing things, making things, collecting things and learning things.

The most popular hobby of all groups is doing something.

It includes everything from gardening to travelling and from chess to volleyball.

Gardening is one of the oldest of man's hobbies.

It is a well - known fact that the English are very popular of gardening and growing flowers, especially roses.

Both grown - ups and children are fond of playing computer games.

It's new, but a popular hobby.

Making things includes drawing, painting, making sculpture and designing costumes.

Some are interested in music.

They collect records and tape recordings, others write music or play musical instruments.

Almost everyone collects something at some period of his life : stamps, coins, match - boxes, books, records, postcards, toys and watches.

And very often some collections are housed in museums and galleries.

I realize that collecting things as a hobby depends on one's age and income.

There are different clubs of collectors, where people can show us their col - lection and tell us why it is special.

At other times they have a swap - shop, and people exchange duplicates, or swap something they don't want for some¬thing new.

That can be fun because most people like bargaining.

Some of our keenest collectors are going to tell you about their hobbies.

No matter what kind of hobby a person has, he always has an opportunity of learning from it and that becomes the most exciting aspect of a hobby.

Hob¬bies help you to choose your future profession very often.

If you've chosen a hobby according to your character and taste you are lucky because your life becomes more interesting.

Now a few words about my hobbies, I think I belong to that group of peo - ple who like doing things.

As a typical teenager, I spend hours exploring the Internet and play computer games.

My hobby is also collecting stamps and coins.

Collecting stamps is great.

I think they're the best things to collect.

There are so many different ones from every country.

Collectors usually have a theme : stamps from one country, stamps about space, animals, famous people, etc.

You could think of lots more.

My theme is flowers.

I found out about rare plants, flowers of different places in the world from my collection.

Collecting could cost you a lot of money, if you bought very old stamps.

However, collecting modern stamps isn't too expensive.

Anyway, the club helps.

I don't buy many stamps.

I get mine by swapping with friends.

It's good fun.

My stamps look nice and a good album is beautiful.

I have got a lot of coins.

One of them is rare, and worth a lot of money.

I found my rarest coin, a 1932 Florrin, in some change.

It's not the oldest one I have, that's a penny from 1797.

1 collect coins because I like the history they record.

It's exciting to think how old they are.

I am starting to collect coins from different countries.

I swap with my friends, sell some and buy some.

I like learning about them in my catalogue.

It's a very interesting hobby.

There are all sorts of things that you can collect.

You must be interested in one of them.

And finally I would like to say that as soon as I finish school and enter a university, I hope to spend more time on all of my hobbies.

Nearly 265 million people live in the USA and speak English.

Although approximately one out of eight people in the US speaks a language other than English at home, there are more native speakers of English there than in any other country.

American English is very flexible and has absorbed many words from the languages of immigrants.

Words like liaison and rendezvous (from French), and rodeo and tornado (from Spanish) came into the language because France and Spain once controlled parts of North America.

Dutch and German settlers gave words such as waffle and cookies, and hamburger and noodles to American English.

The first English speakers to arrive met Native Americans who spoke many different languages.

To trade with them, the Europeans learned words from the local languages, and some of these words became part of American English.

The Europeans also learned the Native American names for the places they were passing through.

Over half the states now have Native American names.

1. English is the native language for all Americans.

2. Tornado is a French word.

3. The word hamburger came from German.

4. Europeans learned local words to trade with Native Americans.

5. You can’t see many Indian names of the places on the modern map of the USA.

It was a hot day.

The sun was shining brightly in the blue sky.

A wolf and a lamb met at a stream.

The water in the stream was cool and clear.

The wolf saw that lamb was fat and wanted to eat it.

He began to shout : "You, fool, you are making the water dirty!

" The lamb was afraid.

It looked at the wolf and said in a thin voice : "But, "Mr.

Wolf, I canifot make the water dirty for you from the place where I am standing, because the stream runs from you to me.

" "Stop talking!

" shouted the wolf in an angry voice.

"I know you!

I met you six months ago, and you were very rude to me.

" "You are wrong, Mr.

Wolf, " cried the lamb, "you could not meet me six months ago : I am only four months old.

" "Never mind, " said the wolf, "if it wasn"t you, it was your brother.

" And with these words he seized the poor lamb and carried it into the wood.

Переведите текст плиз fast Food Restaurants are popular all over the world?

Переведите текст плиз fast Food Restaurants are popular all over the world.

In Britain also there are Fast Food Restaurants.

The food we eat there are - hamburgers and cheeseburhers, a pie and a miikshake or juice.

These restaurants are not ordinary ones.

There aren't any waiters.

You order your food at the counter and pay for it at the same time.

You get your food in a bag or a box.

There are no plates, knives, forks or spoons there.

You eat with your fingers.

Drinks are in a paper or a plastic cups.

You eat your meal.

Then you throw bags, boxes and cups away.

FFRs are very popular with young people.

They can eat very quickly there.

They can eat when they want : FFRs are open from 10 am to 12 pm.

FFRs are very cheap.

In such restaurants colours are bright and atmosphere is informal.

Some people criticize these restaurants.

They say the hamburgers are very big.

They say there aren't many tables, but a lot of people.

But isn't that because FFRs are popular!
