Earth All of us know that we live on the Earth.
But what do we know about it?
The Earth is the fifth largest of the nine main planets in the solar system.
It's the third planet from the Sun.
The Sun is just one of many stars in the Milky Way Galaxy The Earth looks blue from space because 70, nearly three quarters, is covered with water.
There are four oceans on the Earth : the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian and the Arctic.
The oceans contain 97% of all the water on the Earth.

Early People believed the Sun travelled around the Earth.
But over the years people the learnt much and now we know that the Earth turns around the Sun.

The Earth never stays the same.
Long ago people who used to live on our planet undertood that some changes took place regularly, but they could not explain why.
