London is the capital of Great Britain It lies on the both banks of the river Thames.
London is one of the largest cities in the world.
It is important industrial, political, economic and cultural centre of Great Britain.
London consists of four parts which are known as the City, the Port, the West End and the East End.
The City is the heart of financial and business life of the country.
It contains almost all important English banks and offices, headquarters of companies and corporations.
The West End of London is famous for its beautiful monuments and places, fine parks, fashionable shops and big hotels.
The East End is quite different from the West End.
It is the district of factories, plants and docks.
There are many places of interest in London.
One of them is Trafalgar Square with Nelson`s Column.
North of Nelson`s Column the National Gallery is situated.
