Переведите на английский Если что то это не олимпиадное задание нам это учительи тетрадки задал на дом перевести на английский язык Types of Media The term 'news media' refers to the groups that communicate information and news to people.

There are three main types of news media : print media, broadcast media, and the Internet.

Print Media.

The oldest media forms are newspapers, magazines, journals, and other printed materials.

Although print media are less popular today than they used to be 10 - 20 years ago, many people still read a newspaper every day or a newsmagazine on a regular basis.

The influence of print media is therefore significant.

Regular readers of print media are usually more politically active.

Many news reports on television, for example, are merely follow - up stories about news that first appeared in newspapers.

Broadcast Media (радио - и телевещание).

Broadcast media are news reports broadcast via radio and television.

Television news is hugely important in most countries because more people get their news from television broadcasts than from any other source.

Before the invention of television in the 1950s, most people relied on the radio for their news.

Many people still listen to radio news every day, especially during morning and evening commutes (ездить на работу и с работы) in big cities.

Local news stations have a particularly large audience because they can report on local weather, traffic, and events.

The Internet The Internet is slowly transforming the news media because more and more people are relying on online sources of news instead of traditional print and broadcast media.

People surf the sites of more traditional media, but also turn to unique online news sources such as weblogs.

Websites can provide text, audio, and video information.

It's common knowledge that newspapers report the news.

Published on a regular basis, usually daily or weekly, they also interpret events behind the news.

In addition, newspapers give useful information, such as stock market prices, weather reports and television programmes.

They are also a popular source of reading for entertainment.

People often buy newspapers for their feature articles on subjects of wide interest, such as travel and fashion, for their comics and crosswords, and for their regular columns on topics, such as gardening, eating out, show business, gossip and astrology.

Together with other means of communication, such as radio, television, and magazines, newspapers form the media.

Printed forms of the media, including newspapers and magazines are also called "the press".

Newspapers treat the news in two different ways.

They can take a serious line, reporting and explaining the news with the aim of informing the readers as fully as possible.

Alternatively they may take a more popular approach, which requires more entertainment in the choice and presentation of stories, photographs and larger eye - catching headlines.

Many newspapers combine the serious and the popular approach, but in the United Kingdom newspapers tend to be either one thing or the other.

Both serious and popular newspapers can be further divided into daily or weekly (depending on how often they are published), morning or evening (depending on when they are published) and local, national, or, in a very few cases, international (depending on the area over which they are sold).

Newspapers of general interest are supplemented by specialist newspapers, which publish news and stories for people with particular interests.

Religious, financial, and sporting newspapers are examples.

The British are believed to be the greatest newspaper readers in the world.

They read newspapers at breakfast, on the bus or on the train when they go to work and on the way back home.

A symbol of the British Press is Fleet Street — a street in London that used to be home of most British national newspapers.

Fleet Street is conveniently situated on the north bank of the River Thames close to a number of large railway stations, which makes it easy to deliver the papers to the trains taking them round the country.

Fleet Street is also not far from such important British institutions as the Bank of England, the Stock Exchange, the Houses of Parliament and the Law Courts, which allows the Fleet Street journalists to keep an eye on things.

British daily papers are published from Monday to Saturday.

The serious or quality papers such as The Times, The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Independent and The Daily Telegraph are for those who want to know about important happenings everywhere, both domestic news and foreign news.

Compared with Belarusian papers, British quality papers are very thick.

They usually consist of separate sections such as Politics, Finances, Business, etc.

It's not uncommon for a newspaper reader to use only one or two sections and throw the others away.

Popular papers or tabloids, such as The Daily Mail, The Sun or The Daily Express make a much easier reading and have a more general readership.

Many popular papers run strip cartoons and humorous drawings, a lot of them have a woman's page, and readers' letters.

Nearly all papers pay special attention to sports news.

The evening papers, such as The Evening News are often bought because people want to know the winner of a race or the result of football pools.

The Sunday papers are not Sunday editions of the daily papers but separate weekly editions coming out on Sundays.

In addition to the news they usually provide interesting articles on arts, newly - published books, and gardening.

Some of them, such as The Sunday Times have a very high reputation and the best critics and journalists write for them.

ПЕРЕВЕДИТЕ ПОЖАЛУЙСТА British mass media include 820 radio stations, 531 television channels, 1598 newspapers and 1971 magazines - from 270 media owners.

They all provide us with news.

The most traditional medium of delivering news to the people is, of course, the newspaper.

National newspapers in the UK were traditionally divided by format, between serious, intelligent, quality newspapers - broadsheets - and the sensational, popular or red - top tabloid.

Several of the broadsheet newspapers have now changed to tabloid or Berliner formats.

("Berliner" is about the same size as a tabloid, which is easy to open in public transport, but taller.

) Even so, the difference in reputation between the two types still remains.

Broadsheets and 'broadsheet style' newspapers (serious ones but in "Berliner" or tabloid format) are "The Daily Telegraph", The Times"The Sunday Times", The Guardian"The Observer", "The Independent".

Tabloids are "The Daily Express", "The Daily Mail", The Sun "The Mirror", The Daily Star, "The People", "The Daily Express".

Mass media (that is, the press, the radio and television) play an important role in the life of society.

They inform, educate and entertain people.

They also influence the way people look at the world and make them change their views.

Mass media mould public opinion.

Millions of people in their spare time watch TV and read newspapers.

Everybody can find there something interesting for him.

On the radio one can hear music, plays, news and various discussions or commentaries of current events.

Multiple radio or TV games and films attract a large audience.

Newspapers are used in different ways, but basically they are read.

There is a lot of advertisment on mass media.

Some of the TV and radio stations and newspapers are owned by different corporations.

The owners can advertise whatever they choose.

But it is hardly fair to say that mass media do not try to raise cultural level of the people or to develop their artistic taste.

Mass media brings to millions of homes not only entertaiment and news but also cultural and educational programs.

There are more then six TV channels and lot’s of radio stations and newspapers now in the Russian Federation.

Mass Media Mass Media consists of press, radio, television and Internet.

All these sources play an important role in our life.

They inform us of the latest news and incidents in the world.

Modern sources of media also give us wonderful opportunities for self - education and influence the way we see the world.

There are so many TV and radio channels, newspapers and magazines today that one can choose what corresponds to his or her taste.

As for me, I really like watching animal planet program and comedy film on TV.

From radio channels I sometimes listen to BBC to master my English and Energy radio to listen to music.

I rarely read newspapers but my parents do.

My father always buys a great pile of papers and we are also subscribed to a local newspaper.

I like reading colorful magazines, especially about famous teen bands and actors.

My mum reads about fashion and make - up.

I don’t like watching the news program on TV.

There are so many negative news that it makes me sad.

I know that it’s true and the world is full of terror and violence but I think that Mass Media is sometimes exaggerating the facts.

Every day they speak of plane crushes, wars, tsunamis, terrorism, dangerous illnesses and else.

I’d like our TV programs to be more positive and interesting.

Of all the known sources I find Internet to be the most useful.

It is comparatively new but very informative.

This source is multifunctional : I can listen to music online, watch my favourite films and cartoons, communicate with my friends and pen - pals from other countries and find all necessary information for my studies.

Generally speaking, Internet has replaced all other sources of media.
