Computers in Our Life.
I would like to talk about what is the role of computers in our lives.
These machines appeared quite a long time ago, in the middle of the last century.
Initially, computers were huge, enormous machines, but over time, their size decreased and the quality has improved.
People have invented for themselves indispensable helpers in the work, socializing with friends and in their own entertainment.
Computers help to make a person’s shopping list, remind someone of important appointments and anniversaries and answer the telephone.
We can`t imagine our life without computers.
Many people get used to such effect and can no longer get rid of it.
So there is a dependence on computers and computer games.
Of course, this is bad, because this effect destroys the man, his health and life.
In the end, he can go crazy as computer addiction similar to drug addiction, from which it is very difficult to recover.
Thus, I believe that people should be able to control their actions and not let the "iron robots" to subordinate themselves and thereby to ruin their future.
I believe that we should not zloupotrebliati the benefits that people give computers, otherwise it will be too much, and modern technology will absorb people.

Let's compare our life nowadays with the life of people at the beginning of the 20th century.
It has changed beyond recognition.
Our ancestors hadn't the slightest idea of the trivial things created by the scientific progress that we use in our every day life.
I mean refrigerators, TV sets, computers, microwave ovens, radio telephones, what not.
They would seem miracles to them that made our life easy, comfortable and pleasant.
On the other hand, the great inventions of the beginning of the 20th century, I mean radio, airplanes, combustion and jet engines have become usual things and we can't imagine our life without them.
A century is a long period for scientific and technological progress, as it's rather rapid.
Millions of investigations the endless number of outstanding discoveries have been made.
Our century has had several names that were connected with a certain era in science and technology.
At first it was called the atomic age due to the discovery of the splitting of the atom.
Then it became the age of the conquest of space when for the first time in the history of mankind a man overcame the gravity and entered the Universe.
And now we live in the information era when the computer network embraces the globe and connects not only the countries and space stations but a lot of people all over the world.
All these things prove the power and the greatest progressive role of science in our life.
But every medal has its reverse.
And the rapid scientific progress has aroused a number of problems that are a matter of our great concern.
These are ecological problems, the safety of nuclear power stations, the nuclear war threat, and the responsibility of a scientist.
But still we are grateful to the outstanding men of the past and the present who have courage and patience to disclose the secrets of the Universe.
People depend on computers so much that they sometimes think the machines are giant brains?

These range from bulletin boards and chat rooms to voice conversations and video conferencing.
Around the world, the Internet is available to millions of people.
Those who don’t have computer or access to the Internet at home will often have access at work or school, or even at the local library.
Another added bonus of the Internet is that the majority of the information and services available are free.
The use of computers for educational purposes has been highly beneficial for those involved.
From a primary school level, children are taught the basics of computer use, including the Internet.
At high school, this continues as children become more and more proficient in using the computer.
It is a tertiary level though, that computers really come into use.
News, assignments, tests, lecture notes etc.
